Irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) is a common, long-term condition of the digestive system. It can cause bouts of intestinal cramps, bloating, diarrhoea and/or constipation.
The symptoms vary between individuals and affect some people more severely than others. Sometimes the discomfort experienced from the cramps can be so severe and so frightening that people go to hospital, only to be diagnosed with IBS and given some anti-spasmodic medication.
Whilst IBS is not life threatening, it can have a massively negative impact on a person’s quality of life, and prolonged exposure to this condition can be really demoralising and debilitating.
Colonic Hydrotherapy can be very supportive in relieving the symptoms of IBS. The application of strategically warmed water and infused herbal remedies directly into the intestines can be soothing and comforting, which can alleviate the cramps and allow any accumulated matter to be gently and comfortably released.
In addition to the treatment, you will be given information on what’s actually happening within your gut, and how you can best support yourself in the future.
